POSITION OVERVIEW

The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for administrating, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of material into and out of warehouses. This position supplies support to the Sales and Operations teams by ensuring that material is received, stored and released in the most expedient manner possible. Proper storage and retrieval methods are required to insure record accuracy necessary for the operation of a company wide inventory reporting system. This position will also assist the PM, in the planning, developing, organizing, and managing of programs, projects, and activities within one or more project areas and is expected to complete assignments and coordinate activities, equipment, resources, and information.


FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for loading and unloading, packing and unpacking, auditing, general housekeeping, kitting, inbound processing, scanning orders, shipping and receiving, put-a-way, data entry into computerized inventory control systems and inventory control.
  • Confers with the Office Director and Operations Manager to improve materials control response time and resolution guidelines and minimize risk for the company in all areas relating to materials control.
  • Oversees and assures all associated tasks within the materials control department are completed and/or maintained in line with Tech Electronics company objectives.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing shipments per company procedures.
  • Expedites material deliveries based on customer expectations.
  • Assists internal and external customers process orders for material.
  • Assists with over the counter sales.
  • Completes proper paperwork and accurately enters inventory transactions into computer system.
  • Maintains inventory stock levels as per policy, informing purchasing of any out of balance discrepancies.
  • Assists the Material Control Manager with the implementation of cycle counting and reconciliation of errors.
  • Assists warehouse personnel to improve record accuracy to the required levels for elimination of physical inventory, auditor approval, and the required accuracy level for the operation of the automation system.
  • Checks out tools and equipment as requested per company policies.
  • Abides by all processes and procedures. Provides input for continual improvement of current processes or procedures.
  • Participates with Material Control and other departments in determining required inventory levels and the classification of products into current, discontinued and obsolete categories. Participates in the development of service and tool inventories. Continuously evaluates inventory tracking system to provide improvement recommendations for a more accurate and timely perpetual inventory system.
  • Responsible for meeting with internal and external customers to define and continuously improve the deliverables provided by the materials control department.
  • Over-the-counter sales. Processes requests for material only sales through the use of company computer system.
  • Assists project managers by coordinating activities of designated projects to ensure the project scope and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Adheres to Tech Electronics project management process. Assists in project management (resource scheduling, team building, work breakdown structures, project objectives, scope of work, job costing, implementation plans, sit downs, subcontractor management, project communications, project documentation) of all projects as designated.
  • Monitors job status and helps project manager control job costs to ensure that each project is completed on-time and within stated budget.
  • Facilitates procurement, documentation, scheduling, and change requests as directed by project managers.
  • Responsible for suggesting methods to improve communications, processes, efficiency and service for both internal and external customers.
  • Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner throughout the duration of the project.
  • Assist operations in making sure that your team has the tools they need to execute the project.
  • Assist project managers in creating a project schedule, with milestones, due dates and estimates for those materials that are required and other resources, such as team members, which will then be continuously updated throughout the project.
  • Help with the documentation of each phase of the project, as well as make summary reports that will be presented to the organization's management team.
  • Working with team members in the field or on site who have project issues.
  • Communicates clearly and directly with all team members concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability.
  • Work autonomously, making decisions without too much managerial oversight
  • Fills in as needed for other project coordinators and project managers on vacation
  • Ensures compliance with all department procedures, policies, and work rules.
  • Complies with and strictly adheres to company safety guidelines and/or company safety policies in performing assigned job duties.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees and managers to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity and continued improvement.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop and crouch, push, pull, reach, grasp, feel, talk, and hear.
  2. The employee is required to lift at least 70lbs pounds and/or 25 to 50 pounds continuously and move around large areas or to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects unassisted or with the use of a hand truck or hoist.
  3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include clarity of vision at 20 feet or more as well as 20 inches or less.

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions: In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The following are the minimum qualifications an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • Education:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be able to read and speak basic English
  • Experience:
  • Two years experience in customer service, warehouse and/or office administration environment.
  • Two years experience using computer systems, including MS Office.

  • Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves
  • Must be able to learn technology quickly, with a focus on accuracy
  • Working Knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to stay calm and attentive to high-level goals when the external environment is unstable and stressful
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Must be able to quickly learn technology with a focus on accuracy
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Ability to handle multiple telephone lines
  • High level of attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines
  • Strong customer and results orientation
  • Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Ability to develop business processes in line with the needs of the customer
