What you'll do as VP of Materials Management

Responsibilities:

The VP of Supply Chain reports to the CEO and oversees the entire materials cycle, including sourcing, purchasing, inventory optimization, and forecasting and analysis. This individual will collaborate with key cross-functions to design and execute strategies driving materials margin through smart purchasing and materials management.

• Further develop a robust sourcing function, guiding procurement professionals to improve RFP/RFQ, negotiation, vendor selection, and performance processes.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on pricing and build strategic relations with suppliers.
• Ensure cadence and accurate cycle counts are completed to ensure accurate inventory.
• Work closely with other relevant functions to identify and execute critical KPI's, managing a continuous improvement process, e.g., Sales/Customer Service, Production, Finance
• Lead and manage logistics professionals to negotiate with, select, and manage key supply chain partners for both inbound and outbound logistics.
• Participate in implementation of new ERP and own the MRP functions
• Drive better utilization of ERP and related tools to optimize business processes, including MRP, logistics management, and sourcing.
• Oversee warehouse functions in multiple cities
• Optimize material flow and freight to drive material margin

Qualifications:

• An individual who combines high-level thinking with the ability to be hands-on, including potentially covering the day-to-day activities of the teams at times.
• 6 to 8 years of relevant managerial experience in materials management
• A demonstrable record leading the transformation and growth of Supply Chain functions, notably process improvement projects requiring collaboration with other functional leaders.
• Willing to work in a messy warehouse while able to be data and system savvy
• Proven experience managing and developing small teams by providing strategy and mentorship while supporting specific tasks and day-to-day issue resolution.
• Ability to communicate with customers and project managers on supply chain issues and implementing systems that bring transparency to materials availability and delays.
• Hands-on, proficient experience with ERP/MRP and logistics management systems.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to articulate results and objectives to various stakeholders
