Training Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Training Specialist collects data, designs customers' system, creates instructional content, trains and supports all assigned system products for customers.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Advises customer as to specific program specifications and needs as determined by needs assessment and design meeting discussions. Acts as the intermediary between the technician and customer.
  • Develops required documentation, communicates the final design, tests system programming, and ensures proper system operation and provides documentation to guarantee proper maintenance including system greetings, system recordings, etc.
  • Coordinates all aspects of training with the customer including training sessions, training times, training environment, system setup, delivery of training material, and administrative training. Leads project team on arranging the training schedule.
  • Controls the training environment (ILT) to ensure the training environment is secluded, conducive to learning, free from inter-personal distractions, ensures that it is both professional, and functional.
  • Presents a professional company image always to the customer; acts as an on-site customer service contact for the installation; facilitates quick resolution of all system design and training related questions and/or concerns.
  • Performs post-Go-Live follow up with the customer; documents system operation issues, design issues, and training issues during follow up; prioritizes and assigns these issues to appropriate team members for resolution; ensures that each issue is resolved; and keeps project team members (including the customer) informed on the progression of these issues.
  • Performs ongoing training and design support for the customer for the life of the system, specifically in support of customer growth, employee turnover, system feature enhancements, etc.
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of assigned systems' features and systems' operations; obtains manufacturer certifications and other industry certifications as required. Reviews new system features and programs to apply to customer's business operations.
  • Delivers blended learning solutions such as classroom instruction (ILT), virtual webinars (RLL), e-learning content (ie. Feature Teachers and videos), including training documentation.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) across the organization and vendor partners to create best practice learning opportunities and content for the customer.
  • Administers the department's Learning Management System (LMS) including uploading new courses, adding new users, running reports, as well as any other necessary maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with directors, managers, and team members to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity and continued improvement.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The following are the minimum qualifications an individual needs to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Education, Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Communications, or similar field) and/or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience:
  • Two years' training, teaching, learning and development, and/or customer service experience.
  • Four years' experience using computer systems, including MS Office.
  • Demonstrated understanding successfully creating, maintaining, and optimizing learning experiences using Articulate Storyline 360, video editing software, and Audacity
  • Demonstrated understanding of managing a Learning Management System

Travel Required:

  • Employee must be capable of providing dependable personal transportation
  • Employee will be required to travel to manufacturer sites for training and/or certification, as needed
  • Employee may have occasional travel to other states.
  • Employee is required to travel to and from customer sites, as needed.
  • Employee will be required to travel to other Tech Offices
