Senior Project Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW 

Performs project management of large, complex projects including projects in which Tech Electronics performs as a communications general contractor.   Maintains and consistently displays advanced skills in the fundamentals of project management.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Essential Functions

• Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure the project scope and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
• Adheres to Tech Electronics project management process. Performs project management (resource scheduling, team building, work breakdown structures, project objectives, scope of work, job costing, implementation plans, sit downs, subcontractor management, project communications, project documentation) of all projects as designated.
• Acts as a mentor for the Project Manager I as assigned by the Director of Operations & Engineering.
• Develops and maintains relationships with our customers.
• Provides system design and technical support at the point of system installation.
• Oversees project quality assurance to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
• Monitors job status and control job costs to insure that each project is completed on-time and within stated budget.
• Responsible for suggesting methods to improve installations, processes, efficiency and service to both internal and external customers.
• Responsible for simultaneously managing large installation type projects utilizing a program management approach; Demonstrates the ability to work on complicated projects involving multiple disciplines; Responsible for the organization, direction, supervision, and coordination of installation activities.
• Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner throughout the duration of the project.
• Implements day-to-day direction of all field activities and is responsible for all job site activities; Ensures timely and efficient execution of field work; Acts as the primary client contact for all project field activities.
• Ensures all construction is in compliance with design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards. Identifies causes for revisions to projects and whether such changes are billable.
• Conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard construction techniques.
• Communicates clearly and directly with all team members concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability.
• Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees and managers to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity and continued improvement.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a Construction/Engineering related discipline.

Experience:

• Five (5) years construction industry project management experience.

The following is highly preferred:

PMP Certification.
