POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Sales Operations Specialist is responsible for driving sales effectiveness through the execution and optimization of key sales operations processes. This position provides organizational support to our sales team to maintain the quality of our database of contracts and customers. This individual works collaboratively with the sales team, contract estimators, clients, and other team members to improve the customer experience and grow our business.


This role requires solid experience in developing and administering Salesforce. Experience with additional productivity tools including Smartsheet, PowerBI, Sharepoint, and MS TEAMs is helpful, but not required. This position requires good analytical skills, strong attention to details and accuracy, and solid customer service skills. Experience in sales onboarding and ongoing training is helpful.


Salesforce responsibilities include:

  • Configure and customize Salesforce to meet the needs of our organization.
  • Train and educate other staff on best practices and proper data entry in Salesforce.
  • Automate sales and marketing processes within the Salesforce platform.
  • Lead clean-up and ongoing maintenance efforts of CRM data within Salesforce.
  • Create/change screen layouts, fields, business rules (validations and workflow) to support business requirements.
  • Create dashboards and reliable reports for key stakeholders that help drive strategic decision making.
  • Evaluate Salesforce.com releases and provide assessment to business for adopting new functionality.
  • Audit data to uncover data integrity issues and/or opportunities for process improvement.

In addition:

  • Develop, execute, and optimize sales operations processes such as contract review, order processing, proposal generation, documentation management, etc.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand their operational needs and help them achieve their goals.
  • Develop strategies to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities to optimize performance.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM to maintain accurate customer and sales records.
  • Evaluate sales tools that can enhance engagement and improve productivity.
  • Create and manage sales documentation, including sales plans, SOPs and sales aids.
  • Assist with onboarding, ongoing training, and support to sales personnel on processes and sales tools.

Salesforce Specialist Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in sales operations or sales administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Salesforce Lightning, including customization, automation, and reporting. Experience in additional sales automation and analytic tools is a plus.
  • Experienced in designing and delivering corporate training a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize projects.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
