Education Market Sales Account Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Education Market Sales Account Manager (ED-SAM) is expected to have an in-depth understanding of the K-12 and Higher-Ed education markets and education customer's business needs, the buying centers for Tech's products and services and how Tech's products and services can help achieve their business goals and solve their business problems. Becomes the "Trusted Advisor" among all buying centers and sells across all Tech Electronic product lines either directly to the customer or indirectly through our Managed Systems and Construction Channels.  Establishes and maintains a strong presence for Tech Electronics within the Education market and positions Tech as the preferred provider of systems and services within their assigned market.  Works collaboratively and facilitates teamwork among product technical specialists, project managers, operations staff, and marketing support to ensure the successful sale, delivery, implementation, and profitability of each project.

 

 

Essential Functions

Sales Account Management Role: Expected to develop and cultivate relationships with accounts within the K-12 and Higher-Ed Education Market in order to first grow accounts into Assigned Accounts and then into Strategic Accounts.

  • Achieves assigned sales objectives for each Tech Electronics product lines.
  • Develops and executes a Vertical Market Sales and Marketing Plan for Strategic accounts within the assigned vertical market.
  • Enters items into Tech's Sales database to capture and describe all activities within Assigned Accounts. These include, but are not limited to all customer education, sales and relationship building activities.
  • Acquires an in-depth knowledge of the customer's business needs and how Tech's products and services can address these needs.
  • Identifies the buying centers within assigned accounts, their buying behaviors, budgets and needs.
  • Identifies potential short and long term buying cycles for assigned accounts that might include our systems or services.
  • Maximizes account revenue within the assigned market, across all of Tech's systems and services.
  • Works collaboratively and facilitates teamwork among product technical specialists, project managers, operations staff, and marketing to ensure the successful sale, delivery, implementation, and profitability of each project.

 General Sales Functions: Expected to regularly perform the following functions.

  • Must understand all of Tech's systems and services and have a thorough knowledge of the applications for the systems and services including all respective "sales ready messages".
  • Joins and actively participates in associations or membership organizations of the Assigned Accounts and vertical market.
  • Updates Tech's Sales database with the most current account information and market intelligence.
  • Facilitates and assists in coordinating seminars and presentations on Tech's systems and services.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

 

 Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related Business field or equivalent work experience

 Experience:

  • Two years of outside sales experience, preferably in the education market.
  • Two years of experience using computer systems, including MS Office.

 

The following is highly preferred:

  • Background of voice, data, alarm and/or video.
