POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Credit and Collections Manager plays a key role in the collection department by providing mentoring, motivation, strategy, and guidance to collections associates to ensure management of company risk associated with the timely collection of customer balances.



FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Provide statistics, data analysis, and reports on the progress of the collection department and report out to senior management
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, peers, and customers.
  • Customer interaction, including calls, emails, meetings and collaborative meetings with the sales and operations departments
  • Resolve disputes and customer service issues and handle customer complaints professionally
  • Negotiate payment arrangements with customers
  • Company-wide collaboration in solving collections issues through root cause analysis and leading upstream process improvement initiatives
  • Set payment collection goals and targets for the department and provide leadership to achieve these goals
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements that will improve collection performance

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance

Experience: 5+ years of relevant collections or accounting experience
