POSITION OVERVIEW:  The Technology Solutions Manager is the owner, customer advocate, and ultimate decision maker with regards to Tech's relationship with the account for all activities that may impact that relationship, either directly through the Construction channel or indirectly through the Service or End User channel.  The Technology Solutions Manager is organized around accounts and firms. A Technology Solutions Manager is expected to have an in-depth understanding of the business and all their current and potential projects. The Technology Solutions Manager is expected to become the "Trusted Advisor" for all new construction projects within their assigned accounts whereby the electrical/general contractors will purchase the products and services offered by Tech Electronics, directly through the Construction channel or indirectly through the Service or End User channel.

The Technology Solutions Manager is expected to maximize accounts across all of Tech's systems and services and across all channels. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Develops and executes an Account Management Sales and Marketing Plan for each assigned account.
  • Network and build relationships with General Contractors, Architects, Engineers, Fire Marshals, Code Officials, Construction Manager's, internal Technology Directors and key manufacturers and vendors through lunches, offices visits, social events, etc.
  • Leads educational activities like Lunch-n-Learns, One on One discussions and presentations, trade shows, conferences as well as webinars and seminars for internal employees and external customers.
  • Responsible for code verification and interpretation (internal and external), preparation of technical specifications and submittal for review and compliance.
  • Enters upcoming activities and opportunities in SalesForce to capture and describe activities within the account.
  • Understand's all of Tech's systems and services and have a thorough knowledge of the applications for the systems and services.
  • Maintains knowledge of all new and existing building codes.
  • Acquires an in-depth understanding of the Architect/Engineer's and influencers in the construction business.
  • Learns the account's behavior and needs, and then match Tech's systems to those needs.
  • Identifies the potential short and long-term needs of the assigned account that might include any of Tech's systems or services.
  • Identifies budgets and decision makers within each account.
  • Maximizes opportunities with each assigned account, across all of Tech's systems and services, regardless of the channel.
  • Joins and actively participates in industry relevant associations or membership organizations.
  • Continuously updates SalesForce's Company and Contacts data with the most current information and market intelligence.
  • Continually improves knowledge base through technical and professional journals relative to the assigned account.
  • Facilitates and assists in coordinating seminars and presentations on Tech's systems
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees and managers to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity and continued improvement.

 

REQUIREMENTS 

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Engineering, Computer Science, Math , English or Communications preferable and/or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • Five years of experience working in Sales, Project Management or in an engineering capacity within the construction industry
