POSITION OVERVIEW:  This is a Sales Hunter, outside sales position for IT system and/or Services.  This person has specific system knowledge to be able to discover opportunities, high level system designs, prepare Estimates and Submissions, demonstrate and present the Submission and close the sale, utilizing the Tech's Sales Process.  The Technology Director (IT) will assign the core Systems/Product Types and test the SSS to assure the optimum needed expertise and knowledge.  There are no limitations to the number of Systems/Product Types assigned to an SSS, provided that he/she can pass the appropriate product and selling requirements for each assigned Systems/Product Types.  In addition to the responsibilities as outlined in this job description, this position may be assigned job functions or responsibilities of a Vertical Market Manager and/or Customer Base Sales System Specialist as required to increase sales and strengthen customer relationships.

 

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

 

Essential Functions

  • Generate and qualify leads through cold calling.
  • Follow up on all leads from the Marketing Supervisor, Customer Base SSS other SSS's, networking, and other sources.
  • Manage and update opportunities in Tech's CRM on a daily basis.
  • Respond to leads on a timely basis, generally less than 24 hours.
  • Master product and services knowledge and sales expertise for his/her assigned Systems/Product Types.
  • Capable of determining the customer's business needs, problems, goals or "pain" and propose viable business solutions.
  • Capable of "qualifying" the customer per Tech's Sales Process.
  • Must "easily" talk about all of Tech's Systems/Product Lines to determine customer interest in order to generate leads for other SSS's.
  • Prepare quotes, contracts and RFP/RFI responses for potential customers.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations in a professional and effective manner by:
    • Developing technical presentations for potential customers, which can include industry trends, codes and government regulations.
    • Performing System/Product demonstrations as needed
  • Close sales and meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales quotas as defined by the Technology Director (IT).
  • Keep the Technology Director (IT) informed of all activity, including timely preparation of required reports per Tech's Sales Process .
  • Attend and participate in the sales training program provided or required by the Market and Technology Directors.
  • Attend tradeshows and conferences, as needed and as directed by the Technology Director (IT).
  • Attend scheduled one-on-one meetings with the Technology Director (IT).
  • Works with other sales staff to cross generate leads.
  • Able to support oneself 75% of the time without additional technical support and request technical assistance for assigned IT Systems/ Product Types from Operations and Engineering 25% of the time.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

Education:

  • Associate's Degree in a related Business or Technical field or equivalent work experience
  • General to detailed knowledge of the following:
    • Server hardware (Dell, HPE)
    • Server software (Microsoft Windows, current versions)
    • Server applications (Exchange, Virtualization, Terminal Services)
    • Network infrastructure (Ruckus, Cisco, HPE, SonicWALL)
    • MSOffice software
    • Barracuda

Experience:

  • Three (3) years outside technical or outside sales experience in the area of Information Technology Systems.
